The very first open garden for Open Gardens Canberra was declared open on Saturday 26 September by President Shirley Pipitone. A large crowd of garden visitors watched Shirley cut the green ribbon, bringing to fruition more than 12 months of her dedication to continue the tradition of open gardens in the Canberra region.
