My Place
10am to 4pm, 28th and 29th September 2024
In the front garden a varied display of well-maintained spring flowering shrubs frame a broad 180 degree view which includes Isaacs Ridge, Black Mountain and Mt Taylor. Over time the owner has established and shaped the beds and shrubs which include a range of azaleas, a large flowering crab apple, a special rose and other roses and a stunning weeping cherry. The back garden comprises a very large cobblestone paved open space area framed by a wisteria covered pergola next to the house. The garden is surrounded and sheltered by a broad, informal hedge of photinias and many different types of pittosporums, with tall shrubs and small trees on the property perimeter which provide privacy and windbreaks. Other features of this ‘peoples’ garden include two large Chinese Pistachio trees, various potted annuals and camellias, a small water feature, a couple of bird baths and a clear direct view west to Mt Taylor. A screened off production and service area includes a large productive vegetable garden including raspberry and asparagus beds, herbs and composting facilities.
